Your dating pool is made up of your friends' friends. You build that network by adding people you actually know as friends on the app — once you have friends on offlyn.love, the people they're connected to become your discovery feed. You only ever see people you're genuinely two degrees away from.
We don't show you who the mutual friend is while you're browsing. This is intentional — it keeps things honest and avoids any awkwardness before both people are interested. Once you and someone else both match, the mutual friend is revealed inside your conversation.
No. The app never notifies or tells the mutual friend that they facilitated a match. Only the two people who matched know who connected them.
Your friends can see your name, phone number, and one photo — enough to know it's you. What they won't see is your full profile in their dating feed. You only appear as a potential match to friends-of-friends, not to people you're already connected with. And in the other direction: people you match with never see your phone number at any point.
You add friends by searching for someone using their phone number and sending them a friend request — they have to accept it. You can sync your contacts to quickly find who's already on the app, but connections are never added automatically. Every friendship is a deliberate, two-way choice.
Yes. You can block any phone number at any time — even before that person has joined the app. Blocked numbers will never be able to see your profile or match with you.
We currently don't store your contact list. We only use it in the moment to find who's already on the app or calculate who's two degrees away. If this changes — for example, to notify you when someone you know joins — we'll update our privacy policy and let you know.
